Torrens Valley Table Tennis Association V Hills Table Tennis Association

An inter association match was played Tuesday night between Hills Table Tennis Association and Torrens Valley Table Tennis Association with Hills coming out on top 13-47 to 7-30. Hills were represented by players from several clubs including Aldgate, Scott Creek, Hahndorf, and Upper Sturt while Torrens Valley comprised of players from the Lobethal, Harrogate, and Birdwood clubs. Teams consisted of 8 players made up of 6 men and two women.

Best players for Hills were top two Lenno Stevels and John Haskey who did not drop a game all night while David Helbig at number 4 was also unbeaten.

Torrens Valley's Todd Gripton, Eric Jaeger, and Pauline Hart each won both of their singles matches with Gripton and Jaeger narrowly losing their double to Perry Edwards, Steve Hooper 11-3 8-11 11-7 9-11 9-11.

Hills Hannah Pannewig, Di Perkins won their double in three over Hart and Audrey King while Hills Hugh Griffin and Helbig claimed the second double 8-11 11-7 8-11 11-6 11-9 against Darren Stanbury, Ollie Hughes. Stanbury later got revenge with a 14-12 13-11 8-11 12-10 win over Griffin.

Plans are underway to make it an annual event with more players involved in the future by including a B Grade match on the same night
